Pakistan is a federal Government system with the federal capital Islamabad. The four Provinces, are Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are separate independent government systems. The Main port, largest city, and economic hub are Karachi the second largest city is Lahore. Other big Pakistani cities are Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Peshawar, and Quetta.

Karachi
Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan and also one of the largest cities in the world. Karachi is the capital of the Sindh Province of Pakistan. It is the country's main seaport and an important city. It is a financial hub and industrial area. It is located near the Arabian Sea, Pakistan's largest seaports, the ports of Karachi, and Port Qasim, having Jinnah international airport. It is a highly populated city, with 14.9 million total population. Pakistan's total tax collection is 35% from Karachi.

The total population of Karachi in the 2017 census is 16,024,894. Karachi is a religiously homogeneous 96 percent are Muslims.
Lahore
Lahore is the largest city in Punjab. It is one of the wealthiest cities in Pakistan. The city has a vibrant history. It was the capital of the Ghaznavid Dynasty from 1163 to 1186 A.D. The Mughal army occupied Lahore in 1524 A.D. it was captured by Mughal King Babur's army. Lahore consists of old buildings and forts. The newer commercial, industrial and residential areas. Notable Structures include the Wazir Khan Mosque 1634 and Lahore Fort 1556. The Badshahi Mosque was built by Aurangzaib Alamgir. The magnificent Shalimar Garden, Lahore museum contains collections of art and historical items.

Peshawar
Peshawar is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The sixth largest city in Pakistan. The population of Peshawar is mostly Pashtuns. A broad area is situated in the east of the historic Khyber pass that connects Afghanistan with Pakistan. In ancient India, it served as the capital of the Kushan Empire under the rule of Kanishka. The city was an important trade route of the Mughal Empire before it become part of the Afghan Empire.

In 1846 the city was captured by the British Empire and subsequently the independence of Pakistan in 1947.
Quetta
Quetta is the provincial capital of the Balochistan province of Pakistan. It is the 10th largest city in Pakistan. It was destroyed in 1935 by an earthquake and was rebuilt and had a population of 10 million in the 2017 census. It is 1680 meters above sea level. Quetta is known as the Fruit Garden of Pakistan. Quetta is located in northern Balochistan near the Pak-Afghan border. The city is near Bolan Pass which is a route to major gateways from central Asia.
